At first a small group of Americans officiallypronounced themselves "Pro- British." The british worked long and hard to gain Americansupport. Both sides used propaganda. German propaganda was basically anti- Russian anddidn't appeal to most Americans. British propaganda was actually skillful and efficient.It wasn'tlong before the rest of the Americans leaned towards siding with the Allies. American businessinterests also supported the british.
